In Bratislava for a debate on the state of the EU and Europe at a crossroads
SeeIntervention during the first session of the 2015 Tatra Summit in on the “State of the Union: Europe at a crossroads 2015” in Bratislava.
Migration crisis, economy, security are currently the main topics on the table of European leaders. The influx of refugees is increasing every day and a spectrum of politicians has raised the question of failure and future of the Schengen zone. At the same time, the European Union has to tackle its still-unsolved challenges such as the Eurozone crisis, energy security, growing distrust of European citizens towards European institutions or the continuous spread of nationalistic and populist tendencies throughout the Union. Is the European project strong enough to survive pressures from multiple directions? How should these challenges be faced in order to make Europe stronger?
